  • Iryna Vereshchuk chairs meeting of Coordination Headquarters on IDPs

A meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Internally Displaced Persons was held chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry for Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Defence, the Pension Fund, regional military administrations, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS), other agencies and organisations, and members of parliament.

Among the issues discussed at the meeting was the implementation of the Prykhystok (Shelter) project, which provides compensation to those who host internally displaced persons free of charge.

The project is financed by the URCS. According to the representative of this organisation, the payment of compensation to citizens for housing and utilities for March-April is due to begin by 20 July.

During the discussion of this issue, Iryna Vereshchuk also instructed to consider simplifying the data verification procedure for the URCS. This is to enable property owners who are now abroad to provide housing for IDPs under this programme.

Representatives of the regional military administrations reported on the processing of inquiries received on the hotlines of the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories regarding the payment of state aid to IDPs. Most of these issues have already been resolved.
