The biggest challenge has been the aftermath of russian shelling of Kyiv city and Kyiv region. The emergency services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are working round the clock to help restore damaged facilities and support people suffering from russian strikes, according to Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.

Psychologists from the State Emergency Service and the police are on duty at invincibility points to help citizens cope with stress. In the most affected areas, rescuers have additionally deployed pneumatic frame modules in the courtyards of high-rise buildings. There, people can also warm up, receive counselling and necessary assistance.

"In the capital, the State Emergency Service has installed generators for emergency power supply to residential buildings where restoration efforts are still ongoing. Additional generators have been brought in from other regions so that we can respond to needs immediately rather than waiting. To this end, the State Emergency Service has created a separate Energy Unit," said Ihor Klymenko.

Meanwhile, the police and rescue workers are supporting people who find themselves in difficult circumstances due to the bad weather. The number of police patrols on motorways and streets in populated areas has been increased.

The Minister of Internal Affairs reminded that if you need help from rescuers, police, medics or gas services, and mobile communication is intermittent, use the official 112 Ukraine app. It works via Wi-Fi in resilience points, shelters, hospitals and other places with internet access.

There is at least another week of severe frosts ahead. Therefore, our focus is now on the most important thing: ensuring that people get through this period safely and having support.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs services are working in an enhanced mode. We are here for you. And we do everything to ensure that help is provided in a timely manner," emphasised the Minister of Internal Affairs.
