On Tuesday, 6 August, Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, paid a working visit to Chernihiv region.
The official focused on humanitarian response and preparation for the winter period in the border areas. She also addressed the implementation of veterans' policy in the region and the coordination of local authorities' cooperation with international donors.
As part of her working visit, the Deputy Prime Minister held an offsite meeting of the Coordination Centre for Civilian Support under the Chernihiv Military District Administration in Novhorod-Siverskyi.
The meeting focused on the work done to provide household fuel to socially vulnerable residents of Chernihiv region for the 2024-2025 heating season.
They also discussed humanitarian response and support for the population in the autumn and winter.
In addition, in Novgorod-Siverskyi, Iryna Vereshchuk met with the teaching staff of the K.D. Ushynskyi Lyceum.
The school was heavily damaged by an enemy missile attack. However, the local authorities and teachers have developed the educational infrastructure on the basis of other premises of the lyceum.
In Chernihiv region, Iryna Vereshchuk also held a meeting on veterans' policy.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration led by Viacheslav Chaus, the city military administration, delegates from volunteer and public organisations. MPs Oleh Seminsky and Serhiy Hryvko were also present.
The participants discussed veterans' work in communities and funding for veterans' projects.
