
Hennadii Zubko and Johannes Hahn signed an Agreement on Financing the Second Phase of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme to the tune of € 40 million
The Agreement on Financing the Second Phase of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme to the tune of € 40 million was signed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko and European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn within the framework of the 21st Ukraine-EU Summit.
"I express gratitude to the European partners for the systemic support of decentralization. Today's event testifies the high appraisal of the reform by the European Union. The key focus of the implementation of the second phase of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme is a regional policy. In particular, the introduction of a modern system for monitoring and evaluating regional development, improving access of citizens to administrative services, supporting innovative infrastructure projects in CC (consolidated communities). The program will demonstrate an unprecedented efficiency as in the new phase, the reform will offer a number of challenges and objectives", stressed Hennadii Zubko.
The U-LEAD with Europe Programme is co-funded by the European Union and its member countries Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Poland and Sweden, and aimed to support the reform of decentralization in Ukraine and its sectoral directions.
The implementation of the Programme will be carried out by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ).
