Today, France plays one of the key roles in the development of green energy in Europe and throughout the world. Therefore, it is crucial for Ukraine to attract French companies working in this direction. At present, we estimate the investment potential of renewable energy in Ukraine at EUR 12 billion.

This was stated by Vice Prime Minister/Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko at a joint briefing with the Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne.

"French companies such as ENGIE, Total-Eren and Akuo Energy have already expressed their interest in participating in large-scale projects in the area of energy efficiency and renewable energy development in Ukraine. This will allow Ukraine in the future not only to reduce energy consumption and modernize public utility companies, but also to abandon classical energy sources. It is significant for us to incorporate French technologies in the introduction of energy efficiency in the residential sector", said Hennadii Zubko.

During the seventh meeting of the Ukrainian-French Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, the sides positively noted the interest of ENGIE in developing in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone of the solar power plant, the Сhornobyl Solar.
