Power engineers are promptly restoring electricity supply: Anatolii Zamulko
Restoration work continues in Ukraine to stabilise the energy system, but certain regions are still operating under power limitation schedules. This was reported on the air of the telethon “United News” by Anatolii Zamulko, Acting Head of the State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision of Ukraine.
According to him, the schedules are applied to balance the system amid a shortage of domestic generation capacity.
“Today, nuclear, thermal, and hydroelectric power plants are all operating. Electricity limitation schedules are used precisely to balance the system, as our own resources are insufficient due to russian attacks,” explained Anatolii Zamulko.
In border regions where fighting continues, some consumers remain without electricity. This particularly concerns Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Donetsk regions.
“Where the security situation allows, power engineers are promptly restoring supply. However, the enemy deliberately targets even small substations, so restoration work continues daily,” noted the Head of the State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision.
He also emphasised that the pace of constructing protective structures for energy facilities has been significantly increased. Nevertheless, russian forces are refining their methods of attack, so protection must continually evolve and adapt.
Among the key needs of the Ukrainian energy sector are transformers, which are most often targeted by attacks and require constant repair.
“In this area, we are working closely with European partners, humanitarian headquarters, and donors. Equipment is arriving, but high-capacity transformers remain a priority,” he stressed.
According to him, international partners are assisting not only with supplies but also by creating reserves of energy equipment necessary for the rapid replacement of damaged components and maintaining the stability of the energy system.
