  • State GeoCadastre supplemented PCM with new information layers
State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre, posted 10 December 2019 14:17

Today, the State GeoCadastre has supplemented the Public Cadastral Map (PCM) with new information layers. In particular, ‘Oil and Gas Wells’, ‘Mineral Deposits’, ‘Emerald Network’, ‘State Control over Land Use’, and Earth remote sensing data containing ‘2019 Classification of Crops (spring and winter)’ and ‘Sowing on Unregistered Lands’.

The updated information is in the open access and is provided by responsible institutions: Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine, State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine, on the basis of data from the State Land Cadastre as well as information obtained within the framework of the World Bank project "Supporting Transparent Land Governance in Ukraine".

The Emerald Network information layer reflects "areas of particular environmental interest". Whereas the Mineral Deposits and Oil and Gas Wells maps the position of minerals and oil and gas wells.

The layer State Control over Land Use includes data in accordance with the Annual Plan of Implementation of State Surveillance (Control) Measures by the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre for 2019 (Order No. 303 dated 30.11.2018). Layers 2019 Classification of Crops and Sowing on Unregistered Lands "allow tracing the current state of crops".

It should be noted that the updated information is of particular value for the conservation of natural flora, fauna and habitat types. It can be used by land management organizations to obtain information on minerals, oil and gas wells, to get the map of areas of particular environmental interest. Public authorities and local governments can use the data to make effective management decisions and to inform about the annual review plan.
