  • State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies has determined new levels of epidemic safety in the regions
    Communications Department of the Secretariat of the CMU, posted 07 August 2020 19:22

    On August 7, a meeting of the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies was held to discuss the deterioration of the epidemic situation in Ukraine through a significant increase in the number of patients with COVID-19.

    One of the issues considered by the Commission was the preparation for amendments to Government Resolution № 641 in terms of expansion and changes to the list of criteria that affect the establishment of different levels of quarantine restrictions.

    According to the Minister of Health Maxym Stepanov, an extraordinary meeting of the Government is planned for Monday to consider the relevant issues. In particular, the Cabinet of Ministers will be asked to add a new indicator of the number of active patients for the last 7 days. This indicator will make it possible to record the improvement or deterioration of the situation in specific cities and districts.

    In addition, changes will be proposed in terms of the need to increase the number of testing. Currently, this figure is set at 24 testings per 100,000 population. It will be proposed to increase this figure to 32 testings per 100,000 population. An appropriate solution is needed to get more accurate statistics of the epidemic situation and respond to challenges.

    The following decisions were also adopted at today’s meeting of the State Commission:

    - from 08.08.2020 to transfer the city of Lutsk from the "red level" of epidemic danger to the "orange level" of epidemic danger;

    - from 08.08.2020 to transfer the city of Ternopil from the "red level" of the epidemic danger to the "yellow level" of the epidemic danger.

    The Commission also determined the need for more thorough checks on compliance with quarantine rules, in particular by local authorities.
