Government compensated entrepreneurs with UAH 147 million for the employment of more than 13,000 displaced people

The state has already paid a UAH 147 million resource in compensation to entrepreneurs who had hired internally displaced persons, reported First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko.

"More than 8,000 entrepreneurs received finance from the Government for the employment of 13,200 Ukrainians who had been forced to move from dangerous regions of the country. In order to help IDPs to build their life in a new place, to provide for themselves and their families, we encourage businesses to hire them. In addition, they also have the opportunity to open their own business in a new region thanks to a number of grant programs from the Government, under which you can receive from UAH 50,000 to several million for starting and developing a business," Yuliia Svyrydenko said.

As a reminder, the compensation program for the employment of internally displaced persons, introduced by the Government in April 2022, provides for the payment of compensation to entrepreneurs for the period of 2 months in the amount of UAH 6,500 for each employed IDP.

Under the terms of the program, reimbursement is ensured to an employer who has hired an IDP with a minimum wage of at least UAH 6,500, is registered as a payer of a single contribution to compulsory state social insurance, has submitted a tax return for the 4th quarter of 2021, or the entire of 2021.

To receive funds, the employer must conclude an employment contract (especially part-time), a gig contract with an internally displaced person, register his/her data on the Diia Portal and submit an application for compensation together with documents confirming the payment of wages and contributions.

Background

The procedure for compensating the employer for labor costs for the employment of internally displaced persons as a result of hostilities during martial law in Ukraine is approved by Resolution No. 331 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated March 20, 2022.
