  • Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko met with Minister of Finance of Poland

    Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko met with Minister of Finance of Poland Magdalena Zhechkowska during a working visit to Washington, DC.

    Deputy Minister of Finance Olga Zykova, Government Commissioner for Public Debt Management Yuriy Butsa and Deputy Minister of Finance for European Integration Yuriy Draganchuk also took part in the meeting. 

    The parties discussed the economic and financial situation in Ukraine, reforms, cooperation in the customs area and further cooperation between the Ministries of Finance of Ukraine and Poland. 

    “Poland is reliable partner of Ukraine, who show support in all possible areas. The contribution of the Government and people of Poland to the acceleration of Ukraine's victory in the war and the support of the Ukrainian population, including the temporarily displaced, are extremely valuable for us. We hope for deepening cooperation between the Ministries of Finance of our country”, said the Minister of Finance of Ukraine.

    During the meeting, the issue of the implementation of the common transit procedure (NCTS) in Ukraine was also discussed. This started to operate from the beginning of October. Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine for European Integration Yuriy Draganchuk emphasized the importance of this issue for Ukraine's European future. 

    It should be noted, on October 5, the first Customs Platform: Ukraine-EU 2022 took place in Kyiv. The event was dedicated to the launch of the Customs Visa-Free regime - the entry into force of the Convention on the Common Transit Procedure (NCTS).
