Denys Uliutin, Ukraine's Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity, who had arrived in New York to participate in the high-level plenary meeting of the UN General Assembly on the appraisal of the UN Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons, began his working visit with a meeting with the Ukrainian community.

The Minister emphasized that Ukrainian citizens abroad are a strong voice for our country in the world, including in the fight against russian propaganda.

The central theme of the event was the return of Ukrainians who had been forced to leave their homes as a result of russia's full-scale invasion.

"We clearly understand that active return of our citizens is only possible when the security situation is stable. However, the country must be prepared for that, and relevant decisions are already being drawn up at the state level. In particular, the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity, together with international partners, is launching a network of Ukrainian Unity Centers abroad, where psychosocial, educational, and cultural services, legal advice, and advice on returning will be provided. The first such centers will open in Spain, the Czech Republic, and Germany," said Denys Uliutin.

The Ministry is also developing a single state portal to support returnees. It will provide information on available options for work, education, housing, and social services in the relevant communities, as well as step-by-step instructions to make the return as smooth as possible.

Denys Uliutin reminded that Ukraine already has a network of Resilience Centers providing psychosocial support, as well as a humanitarian initiative for IDPs called Prykhystok. Robota. This platform is designed to help internally displaced persons find work and housing so that they can fully integrate into new communities and become economically active members of society.
