Denys Shmyhal meets with defenders of Kharkiv region
During a working visit to Kharkiv region, Minister of Defence Denys Shmyhal met with military personnel defending the region.
In particular, the head of the Ministry of Defence met with commanders and service members of the 2nd Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine, the 3rd National Guard Brigade, the 13th National Guard Brigade “Khartia”, the 17th Poltava and 18th Sloviansk National Guard Brigades, the 72nd Separate Mechanised Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians of the 12th Army Corps of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Otaman Ivan Sirko of the Eastern Operational Command of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, and the 127th Separate Heavy Mechanised Brigade of the 11th Army Corps of the Eastern Operational Command of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
Denys Shmyhal expressed gratitude to the soldiers for their courage and resilience in holding back the enemy and protecting civilians, and presented them with awards from the Ministry of Defence.
“I received updates on the frontline situation, enemy losses inflicted, and the brigades’ urgent needs. I also reviewed innovative approaches to planning and conducting combat operations, as well as the technological capabilities of the units,” noted the Minister of Defence.
The command presented key directions for brigade development, including improving management systems, personnel training, and enhancing coordination between units.
“We are working on further digitalisation of the military, introducing modern solutions and game-changers that will give us an advantage over the enemy on the battlefield. We thank every soldier standing in defence of our homeland,” stated Denys Shmyhal.
Additionally, he visited the defenders of Kharkiv’s skies at the city’s Air Defence Centre.
Denys Shmyhal received reports on the situation in this area and thanked the service members of the Air Defence Centre for their professionalism and endurance in extremely challenging conditions.
“The russians shell Kharkiv almost daily. Our goal is to protect people from enemy terror. We are taking appropriate steps in this direction,” concluded the Minister of Defence.
