The Government is taking another step towards comprehensive veteran support by launching the Veteran Pro digital ecosystem, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced at an event dedicated to the project’s launch.

According to Denys Shmyhal, this innovative platform provides veterans with access to a range of existing state support services, including programmes for adaptation, development, and reintegration into civilian life. These include eOselia, eVidnovlennia, veteran grants, quarterly financial aid for veteran sports, access to a support specialist, and many other opportunities.

“The ecosystem will be updated, developed, and expanded. New services and initiatives needed by our defenders will be added. Veterans have preserved Ukraine, and it is the mission of society and the government to remember, honour, and support our heroes,” the Prime Minister emphasised.

He added that 1.3 million Ukrainians currently hold veteran status, and the Government is already working on building a comprehensive support network to ensure no veteran is left without attention or assistance.

“We have four key structural components of this infrastructure,” Denys Shmyhal stated, noting that the first component was the restoration of health and rehabilitation for defenders.

The Head of Government stressed that the strategic goal was to establish modern rehabilitation centres for military personnel and veterans in all regions.

Another focus area is housing for veterans and their families. Last year, according to Denys Shmyhal, nearly 4,600 veteran families received financial compensation to purchase housing. Recently, the Government allocated nearly UAH 4 billion to the regions, which will provide new homes for an additional 1,600 families.

“The third element of veteran support is employment or opportunities to start and develop their own businesses. Through vocational training centres, education vouchers, or Veteran Development Centres, veterans can acquire new professions,” the Prime Minister noted, adding that efforts were underway to adapt workplaces to meet the needs of defenders.

A key area of support remains the debureaucratisation and digitalisation of all procedures for veterans.
