Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal chaired an interagency meeting with government officials, representatives of the Presidential Office, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the National Bank, and central executive authorities.
The participants in the meeting summarised the interim results of the work on Ukraine’s European integration and coordinated further developments.
“Ukraine is changing and moving closer to Europe, and all branches of power are working towards this goal every day. Our path to the EU is first and foremost a significant internal work on reforming the country,” said Denys Shmyhal.
During the meeting, participants discussed measures to deregulate and improve the business climate, improve the banking and insurance systems, develop the public procurement system, corporate, anti-corruption and judicial reforms.
As the Prime Minister emphasised, these are changes aimed primarily at building a strong and developed Ukraine, strengthening European integration and relations with the EU. In addition, the fulfilment of these steps paves the way for the implementation of the EUR 50 billion Ukraine Facility programme over four years.
