During an online conversation with Vice President at the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal discussed further steps Ukraine is taking in the direction of European integration and energy recovery.
"We are working to complete the full synchronization of the Ukrainian power system with ENTSO-E to increase our import and export capabilities for electricity. We also expect to join the EU's 2030 Critical Raw Materials Act this year," said Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister thanked the European Commission for the program of exchanging old lamps for energy-saving ones and for allocating EUR 180 million for the purchase of solar panels for Ukraine. He emphasized that this would be an important contribution to energy stability and further green transformation of Ukraine under the Recovery Plan.
The parties also focused on sanctions against rosatom. Denys Shmyhal highlighted that it was critically important to reduce the dependence of European countries on russian nuclear fuel and to deprive russia of excessive profits in the nuclear industry.
