Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal made an online statement at the opening of the Second Ministerial Roundtable of the IMF and the World Bank Group, which is being held on October 12, in Washington.

The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked the partners for the introduced packages of sanctions, which deal a significant blow to the enemy's economy, and urged to intensify them in the future.

"More sanctions against Russia and more aid for Ukraine. This is how the world should respond to every russian terrorist act," Denys Shmyhal emphasized.

According to the Prime Minister, russia is paying too little for its war crimes. According to forecasts of the World Bank, the russian economy will shrink by 4.5% this year. Denys Shmyhal accentuated that was not enough to stop the aggressor.

The Head of the Government of Ukraine noted that our state would need strong financial assistance from partners in 2023 — approximately $55 billion.

"As the President of Ukraine explained, this covers the state budget deficit at the level of $3.5 billion per month and another $17 billion for rapid recovery projects," Denys Shmyhal noted.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine called on allies to facilitate the confiscation of frozen russian assets: "These are hundreds of billions of dollars that should be spent on restoring of what was destroyed by russian troops. Such must be the retribution for destruction and terror in today's context."
