Festive events dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine took place on Sofia Square in Kyiv under the chairmanship of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

The celebrations were attended by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov, Chairman of the Office of the President Andrii Yermak, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, members of the Cabinet of Ministers, MPs and other distinguished guests.

During the festivities, the soldiers of the honor guard, accompanied with the national anthem, raised a blue and yellow flag over Sofia Square. The Ukrainian state awards ceremony was also held.
