In the face of a hybrid war of Russia, the Ukrainian Government is carrying out difficult reforms, building a strong and stable country that aspires to become a member of the European Union in the near future. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting with the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis on January 31.

"Ukraine has already fulfilled 63% of the tasks provided for in the Association Agreement. We are committed to work hard in this direction. Definitely, in response to the progress, we want to hear specific dates when Ukraine will be able to be a candidate country, when Ukraine will be able to join the European Union," stressed the Prime Minister.

In addition, Denys Shmyhal highlighted that Ukraine was ready to conclude and implement 5 visa-free regimes with the European Union within two years. These include industrial visa-free regime (ACAA), energy visa-free regime (accession to the European energy network ENTSO-E), customs and digital visa-free regime, as well as further implementation of the Common Aviation Area Agreement.

The Prime Minister also expressed confidence that the accords reached during the visit of the Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis to Kyiv would provide a strong impetus to the development and deepening of relations between Ukraine and the EU.
