As of now, about 20,000 war crimes have been registered by all law enforcement agencies. An investigation is underway, the first verdicts are already in place, stated Interior Minister of Ukraine Denys Monastyrskyy during the opening of an exhibition of lined russian equipment in Kyiv, which he visited together with Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov. Destroyed tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, as well as other military equipment used by the occupiers in the war against Ukraine, were lined on the Mykhailivska Square. Denys Monastyrskyy told about the investigation of the occupiers' crimes against Ukrainians.
"All of us are well aware that most of the sentences will be issued in absentia, they will concern those servicemen whom we establish from the lists of military units that fought in Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv. Thanks to video recording, witness testimony, we establish who committed certain crimes, and we collect the whole picture, which will be presented both in the Ukrainian court and in international courts," told the Minister of Internal Affairs.
In addition, the ministers emphasized that the exhibits presented at the exhibition are evidence of these crimes.
"For me as a lawyer, it is generally important to ensure that these remnants of enemy equipment are presented in both The Hague and Nuremberg. Because their crimes must be punished and they will pay for the life of every Ukrainian, every home. And this will be just a proof that they were here and in what condition they found themselves," said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov.
