Better Care Awards: Denys Uliutin presented awards to winners in the Architects of Care nomination

On November 20, the first solemn ceremony of presenting the national award Family for Every Child: Better Care Awards took place. The event was held on Children's Day, which Ukraine is celebrating together with the rest of the world for the first time this year — on International Children's Day.

The ceremony brought together First Lady Olena Zelenska, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity Denys Uliutin, and representatives of central government bodies, international organizations, the public sector, businesses, and communities working to improve the protection of children's rights.

This year, 367 applications were submitted for the Better Care Awards. Based on the results of the evaluation by the Expert Jury and verification by the Supervisory Board, 16 winners were selected in four main nominations:

  • Architects of Care – for leadership in introducing child care and support reforms;
  • Power of Family – for strengthening the family as the best environment for child development;
  • Ambassadors of Warmth – for developing family-based forms of upbringing and adoption;
  • Voice of Change – for public support for reform.

Among the winners are foster families, adoptive parents, social workers, communities, businesses, and initiatives whose contributions have set an example of genuine responsibility, support, and care for children.

“Today, the state's genuine concern for children is not only about laws and decisions. It is, above all, about supporting those who care for children on a daily basis, recognizing leaders and teams who are changing the system through their work and putting children at its center,” emphasized Denys Uliutin during the awarding ceremony.
