During the war, the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine [ESBU] focuses its activities primarily on revealing and identifying of economic entities in which the ultimate beneficiaries are residents of russia and belarus, searching the assets of these countries, as well as ceasing the activities of those enterprises engaged in illegal trade with russia and belarus, in particular through the movement of smuggled goods.

In particular, based on the results of inspections of enterprises transporting fuels and lubricants in Mukachevo, Zakarpattia region, ESBU employees identified the property of one of the enterprises of the russian federation. It is about 29 cars - tanks for transportation of liquefied gas with a total value of USD 1,160,000 (over UAH 35 million in equivalent). This information was directed to the State Property Fund of Ukraine and the Ukrzaliznytsia JSC. Currently, at the initiative of ESBU, the procedure of nationalization of this property is underway.

In addition, in Ivano-Frankivsk, the Bureau’s staff identified 2 railway cars, which also delivered goods from the russian federation to one of the enterprises. The cars are currently at one of the stations of the Lviv Railway. After confirmation of the owner, the issue of their forced removal will be initiated.
