On December 23, 2019, the press center of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine hosted the first press conference of the new chairman of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance (UINR) Anton Drobovych.
The newly-appointed head of the UINR was introduced by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Ukraine Volodymyr Borodiansky.
"Responsible dialogue with mutual respect among the parties should be the core of public communication. This is how we will overcome the Soviet-era legacy of communication through monologues and slogans and will help to reflect on the historical events that are critical for Ukrainian identity," Anton Drobovych said.
Among the main priorities of his work at the post of UINR chairman, he called: decommunization (creation of an archive of repressive bodies; cooperation with educational institutions - schools and universities); work on the international recognition of the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people; counteracting to Russian information aggression.
It is worth noting that on December 4, 2019, at its meeting the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted an order appointing Anton Drobovych to the post of chairman of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance.
