A meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) between Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and representatives of leading Ukrainian IT companies and professional associations.

The event brought together experts in software development, financial technology, IT consulting, cybersecurity, and digital services.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss practical ways to foster cooperation between Ukraine’s diplomatic service and the IT industry to expand the presence of Ukraine’s IT sector in international markets and effectively integrate Ukrainian IT solutions into public, economic, and digital diplomacy.

The Minister emphasised that supporting Ukrainian exporters of IT solutions and services is a key focus of Ukrainian diplomacy, as it strengthens Ukraine’s wartime economy, enhances the country’s global standing, and opens new opportunities for domestic tech players.

“I believe in a foreign policy grounded in a robust economy and successful projects,” said Andrii Sybiha, stressing that a nation’s resilience is tied to the strength of its businesses.

According to the Minister, a strong and dynamic IT sector is an integral part of a resilient Ukraine, which consistently expands its influence through mutually beneficial partnerships and economic ties.

Andrii Sybiha highlighted that Ukraine’s IT sector is not only a strategically vital part of the economy but also a globally recognised leader and brand that shapes modern technological standards.

The Minister underscored the importance of digital transformation within the diplomatic service, particularly in consular services, where Ukraine aims to become a leader in providing convenient and high-quality services to its citizens abroad.

Participants also discussed the significance of the Diia digital ecosystem, which is not only a successful Ukrainian IT product but also an effective tool for strengthening cooperation with other countries, fostering promising tech partnerships, and advancing Ukraine’s interests worldwide.

The Minister noted that priority in Ukraine’s reconstruction, as well as opportunities to utilise advanced Ukrainian digital and defence solutions, will be given to countries that support Ukraine.

Andrii Sybiha expressed gratitude to the IT community for their resilience and work amid the war, noting that this sector could serve as a model of economic self-sufficiency.

The head of Ukraine’s foreign policy also highlighted the importance of collaborating with the Ukrainian IT industry in public and cultural diplomacy and assured that the partnership between the MFA and the domestic IT sector will continue.
