  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on April 27, in Ukraine there have been confirmed 9009 COVID-19 cases, 220 patients died, 864 patients recovered. In total 614 new cases in children and 1,749 medical workers were recorded. During the 24 hours, 392 cases have been confirmed.

    As of April 27, coronavirus disease was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region - 398 cases;
    • Volyn region - 254 cases;
    • Dnipropetrovsk region - 310 cases;
    • Donetsk region - 52 cases;
    • Zhytomyr region - 351 cases;
    • Zakarpattia region - 375 cases;
    • Zaporizhia region - 204 cases;
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region - 761 cases;
    • Kirovograd region - 337 cases;
    • Kyiv - 1220 cases;
    • Kyiv region - 570 cases;
    • Lviv region - 358 cases;
    • Luhansk region - 29 cases;
    • Mykolaiv region - 115 cases;
    • Odesa region - 240 cases;
    • Poltava region - 173 cases;
    • Rivne region - 522 cases;
    • Sumy region - 95 cases;
    • Ternopil region - 612 cases;
    • Kharkiv region - 196 cases;
    • Kherson region – 88 cases;
    • Khmelnytsky region - 72 cases;
    • Chernivtsi region – 1,375 cases;
    • Cherkasy region - 267 cases;
    • Chernihiv region - 35 cases.

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are missing.

    6,176 patients, including 490 children and 1,455 medical personnel are undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 2,833 people were hospitalized, including 124 children and 294 medical personnel. There are 110 people including 1 child and 7 healthcare workers having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.

    As a result of the complications caused by the disease, 220 people died with 116 men out of this number and 104 women with 86% of deaths occurring in the 50 and above age group.

    A total of 864 people including 169 medical personnel have already recovered - repeat laboratory testing has found no virus in body.

    The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. As of the morning of April 27, 2020, the Center received 647 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases. Since the beginning of 2020, 25,489 COVID-19 suspicions have been received.

    The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect oneself from infection.
