This statement was issued by Hennadii Zubko, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine at the opening of the Citizens' Security Centers in the two amalgamated territorial communities (ATC) in Donetsk region.

"Earlier nobody shared the idea that communities will be able to unite and receive support and financial assistance from the state that would allow to update infrastructure, educational and health facilities, but also to ensure security functions. Collaboration with the Regional State Administration, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine yields its result, thus we see how the infrastructure of each community changes today. Decentralization is increasingly becoming a more effective instrument for restoring Donbas, providing a new quality of life. We see the restored infrastructure, rebuilt schools and kindergartens, medical and cultural institutions in the Donetsk region. Recently, a new hub school was opened there, and today - security centers. In the framework of the State Fund for Regional Development, 22 projects were implemented last year. Our goal, using all the toolkits that gives decentralization, is to restore the Donbas and give the citizens of the region the proper quality of services in various fields - education, medicine, security", the Vice Prime Minister stressed.

There are plans to open 8 Citizens' Security Centers in the ATC of this region. For these purposes funding to the tune of UAH 56 million is planned in the regional budget.
