
Volodymyr Kistion: Government expects PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia to shape a development strategy for the next 5 years
The Government of Ukraine approved the Plan for
implementation of top-priority investment projects of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia
for 2018 and commissioned to urgently submit the financial plan of the company for
the next year to the Cabinet of Ministers for further consideration. A
respective decision was taken at the Government session.
The abovesaid investment
projects seek to increase cargo turnover, construction of new freight wagons, development of railway infrastructure for strengthening
export potential of Ukraine. The plan for the next three years provides for a
comprehensive modernization of Ukraine's largest rail carrier
The government officials also gave their backing to
the proposal aired by the line Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion to consider and
approve the Strategy for the development of Ukrainian railways at the beginning
of next year.
The Vice Prime Minister emphasized another essential
issue is to form shortly an independent Supervisory Board of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsya, which together with the company
management will efficiently work and
develop the railway infrastructure in the country.
