Energy efficiency reform being implemented in Ukraine is a success story and we have to talk about it. Only during the last year, the necessary legislative base was adopted due to unimaginable efforts, subordinate acts were elaborated, mechanisms and necessary operational procedures for the successful launch of the Energy Efficiency Fund were developed. This statement was announced by Sophia Lynn, Project Manager Ukraine Residential Energy Efficiency Project, International Finance Corporation (IFC), which is a sister organization of the World Bank and member of the World Bank Group, at the conference "Energy Efficiency in the Housing Sector - The Way to Energy Independence of the Country".

According to her, the World Bank Group expresses gratitude to Ukraine for its partnership and active cooperation in establishing the Energy Efficiency Fund.

"The launch of the Energy Efficiency Fund is slated for the second quarter of 2018. We hope that the main regulations on the statute and procedure for forming the financial resources of the Energy Efficiency Fund will be approved at the next Government meeting that will allow to begin its registration", Vice Prime Minister/ Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko emphasized at the conference.

The Vice Prime Minister underlined that IFC is the principal partner in the establishment of the Energy Efficiency Fund. "In my opinion, the participation of an international partner in the work of the Fund is not only a guarantee of transparency, but also improvement of direct communication in issues pertaining to technical solutions and other tools for its effective work," Hennadii Zubko underscored.
