Today, December 14, there took place a coordination roundtable "Market surveillance in Ukraine: problems and ways to solve them" that gathered First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Maxym Nefyodov, other representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, as well as senior officials of services and inspections engaged in market supervision activities.

Within the framework of the Association Agreement, Ukraine has undertaken commitments to harmonize the system of technical regulation in order to eliminate technical barriers to trade. Among the components of technical regulation is the creation of an effective market surveillance system called to protect consumers from hazardous products.

Such efficient market surveillance is one of the prerequisites for signing an Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Goods (ACAA) between Ukraine and the EU, which provides for the mutual recognition of certificates of conformity of industrial products.
