Vice Prime Minister: For the first time state budget provides funding to the tune of UAH 210 million for inclusive education

A sum worth 210 million hryvnias aimed at developing inclusive edication is included in the draft State budget for the first time ever. This was stated by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko during the meeting of the Council for Affairs of Persons with Disabilities.

According to the Vice Prime Minister, as compared to the previous 2016/2017 academic year, the number of students in inclusive classes has increased by 53% (from 2.720 to 4.180), and the number of pupils with special needs for whom the educational process is organized in special classes of general education schools at the place of residence of such  children has increased by 7% (from 5.265 to 5.669).

Pavlo Rozenko placed a special emphasis on the fact that the network of comprehensive educational institutions for children with complex developmental disorders (educational and rehabilitation centers) increased by 22%.
