Hennadii Zubko: Cabinet of Ministers approved a bill on the construction products market

«We are introducing the European approaches towards the safety of buildings, switching to declarative mechanisms in order to confirm the suitability of construction products, increasing the effectiveness of the state market supervision in accordance to the new Regulation No 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2011», Vice Prime Minister/ Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko announced at a Government meeting, while commenting on the approval by the Cabinet of Ministers of the draft law "On basic requirements for buildings and accommodation conditions on the construction products market".

«Henceforth, the producer of construction products is obliged to submit a document on operational parameters or a technical approval certificate. These documents should include technical characteristics on mechanical stability, fire safety, energy efficiency, accessibility, etc. For the consumer it is the protection of rights. In such a way, the producer fully informs consumer about the quality and safety of their construction products», stressed the Vice Prime Minister.

After the adoption of the bill by the Parliament, there will be created an organization structure aimed to carry out activities with the pre-operational inspection of construction products, similar to the European one. It will operate in a competitive environment on market principles.
