Prime Minister denies possibility of raising gas prices

The economy of Ukraine is buoyant and stable, hence prices for resources, in particular for gas won’t be increased, asserted Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on air of the 5 TV channel.

He stressed that despite the Parliament’s summer break, the Government and all government services and operational headquarters are working.

«We are preparing for winter by accumulating the necessary reserves in order to ensure smooth passage of the heating season. The headquarters are operating, all workers engage in activities on the ground. We deny the possibility of any gas price hike prices, moreover prices will remain in the natural fluctuations of prices in line with inflationary processes», stressed the Head of Government.

Speaking about rates, the Prime Minister reminded that it is a competence of independent the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission of Ukraine, adding that there are no objective reasons for tariffs change.

Apart from that, Volodymyr Groysman recalled that high hopes are placed on the Parliament where draft laws on pension, medical and educational reform are being currently under consideration. It is of critical importance to approve primarily the said package of bills.

«We are talking about the burning need to adopt a number of far reaching reforms, in particular the pension reform. The Government will make every effort to build a strong Ukraine», underlined the Prime Minister.

He drew attention to the fact that Ukraine faces many challenges, but a major overhaul of the country in all areas has already been kicked off.
