
Ukravtodor is drawing up a national strategy for the development of the road system and such document should exist in all regions, says PM
The Ukravtodor State Agency of Motor Roads of
Ukraine is shaping the national strategy for the development of the road system
for the medium term and such plans should be subsequently launched at the local
level in all regions. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr
Groysman while inspecting the ongoing repair activities on the road M-04
Znamianka – Luhansk – Izvaryne in Kirovograd region.
The Head of Government has commenced a trip to Kirovograd region as part
of the inspection visit to the central regions of the country.
«Ukravtodor is elaborating the strategy for
the road system and we have not had such a key document before. The core
objective is to ensure that each region will have such a blueprint in order to
take a structured approach as to repair road activities. Next year we will give
a green light to the launch of the Road Fund that will offer an opportunity to
obtain systemic funding as well as to improve control over the use of resources»,
highlighted the Prime Minister.
Apart from that, the Head of Government stressed drastic changes in the
organization of the work and in the formation of the road system. «The
activities are organized more systematically, we have a new design and
estimates documentation as well as a new quality of equipment and
technologies», underlined Volodymyr Groysman, adding that an execution control
ought to be at a high level.
