Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine pledges readiness to allocate funds to the
tune of UAH 765 million from UAH 3.5 billion which were accumulated in the
State Fund of Regional Development for the implementation of infrastructure
projects in regions of Ukraine. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine
Volodymyr Groysman.
“Today we will adopt a decision on the State Fund of Regional
Development which is an instrument of state policy in this area seek to
implement the most burning infrastructure projects in the region. Now we kicked
off a first phase –765 million hryvnias but there will be new decisions soon.
Hence, the sum worth UAH 3.5.billion will be directed to infrastructure
projects which are being expected on the ground”, noted the Prime Minister.
He stressed that pursuant to the proposals of the Ministry of Regional
Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine resources will be
provided to more than 100 objects across the country. In particular, a sum
worth UAH 19 million will be directed to the construction of the regional
perinatal center in Volyn region, UAH 54 million – to
ophthalmological hospital of the Dnipropetrovsk
regional clinical hospital, UAH 23 million – to Poltava Regional Clinical
Cardiology Center,almost 2 million hryvnias will be
allocated for construction of school in Ivano-Frankivsk
region, UAH 21 million – for a school in Rivne region
and 5.5 million hryvnias – to a
secondary school in Ternopil region.
A special attention will be paid to the development of sport
infrastructure – building of stadiums and sports fields as well as carrying out
road works and reconstruction of transport facilities - including Kherson
International Airport.
"This is just the first decision, the pioneer proposition of the
Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities. We will
support the development of regions and as a result it will be our investment in
economic development and jobs creation", assured the Prime Minister.
He stressed that the success became possible due to the decentralization
process which had been initiated in 2014.
"We see today that decentralization has already yielded positive
results. This can be seen in every corner of the country. Not everywhere, but
in many cities, territorial communities,
villages there have been already taken place processes which we can observe: a
new road, a new kindergarten, a school, a rural health post or other repaired
objects, a new public transport, lighting system as well as a boiler-house- all these tools are
provided by decentralization process. It is worth noting, that decentralization
which was launched in 2014
has already enabled us to achieve the aforesaid results”,
underscored the Prime Minister.
