A draft law on pension reform elaborated by the Government envisages the increase of pensions for 9 million retirees and aligns with interests of our pensioners. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman issued such a statement during a teleconference dedicated to the healthcare questions with heads of regional state administrations in the city of Kropyvnytskyi.
“The Government has put forward (a draft law), we are winding up the technical part. What will it give us? We will ensure the reassessment of pensions to 9 million from 12 million pensioners as well as to ensure the updating of pensions of UAH 200 per month up to 1 thousand UAH per month for more than 5 million pensioners", noted the Head of Government.
Apart from that, in case of approval of the pension reform by the Parliament, the Government will abolish the taxation of retirement payments for working retirees.
Volodymyr Groysman drew a special attention to the fact that the pension reform does not envisage a raise of retirement age.
“I would like local communities to take this message to the people that our initiative is designed to benefit interests of the Ukrainian retirees”, Prime Minister appealed to the heads of local authorities.
