Ukraine will increase agricultural commodity export with Azerbaijan
The
systematic development of mutually beneficial trade and economic relations in
the agriculture sphere as well the increase of commodity exchange is of
paramount importance for both Ukraine and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Minister
of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovyi during a meeting with the delegation of the
Republic of Azerbaijan led by Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev.
“Ukraine is
a powerful player in the system of providing global food security. The
agro-industrial complex of our country is not demonstrating boost of
production, but also growth of exports. I believe that we have all prerequisites
to enhance trade turnover between Ukraine and Azerbaijan”, said Taras Kutovyi.
The Minister
of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine informed the interlocutors on the
progress of reforms in Ukraine, in particular, state support to agricultural
producers, a land reform, privatization of state-owned enterprises, ensuring
sanitary and phytosanitary requirements, development
of the organic market.
"Production of the Ukrainian farmers is
gaining popularity on foreign markets from year to year. This proves the high
quality and competitiveness of Ukrainian products. I think that it (production)
would also satisfy the demands of customers in Azerbaijan," noted Taras Kutovyi.
In turn, the Azerbaijan officials expressed
interest in increasing trade turnover with Ukraine both improving quantity and
enlarging of nomenclature of supplies. Namely, Ukraine will export sunflower
oil, grains, soy, corn, meat, chocolate while it will import vegetables,
hazelnuts, wine, tea and other goods.

investment projects in the agrarian sector of Ukraine.
