During its session the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the resolution on the inclusion of gender equality issues within the competence of Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.

The proposal of establishment of an Office of Parliament Commissioner for gender equality policy had been submitted by parliamentary inter-faction deputy union “Equal Possibilities”.

"As for today, a coordination of gender policy tasks lays within the responsibility of the Vice Prime Minister .It is rather a small step. The next step is setting up a relevant office under the auspices of the Vice Prime Minister. The ultimate purpose is the appointment of the Commissioner for gender equality policy", underlined member of inter-faction deputy union Svitlana Voitsekhovska.

“It is of utmost importance that international aspect is present. In particular, these include Security Council resolution 1325 (on women, peace and security) and obligations under the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine. Therefore it is logical that these functions are to be performed by Ms. Ivanna Klympush -Tsintsadze," noted MP Mariia Ionova.

It’s remarkable that adoption of this resolution occurred on the internationally recognized Zero Discrimination Day.

The legal status of women in a society and family is a criterion of the development in political, social and legal-state spheres. Apart from that, now the top-most issue is to ensure collaboration between state power bodies, local authorities,NGO's to enhance societal well-being of women.
