Officers and non-commissioned officers of Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian Brigade are involved in conducting a new challenging battle staff training to exercise ability to plan and perform Stability Operations in Lublin, Poland, the press service of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported on Tuesday, March 23.

This is a two-month long training which aims at synchronizing procedures and developing interoperability of  Lithuanian, Polish and Ukrainian components of the Brigade, while executing Stability Operation. Following the scenario, LITPOLUKRBRIG was called by the international community to reinforce NATO contingent in a country in the Middle East. The decision of three governments of the contributing countries was made and staff officers from Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine began gathering as much information as possible and analyzing the mission. According to LITPOLUKRBRIG Chief of Staff Lieutenant Colonel Eligius Senulis’ point, this is a real-life scenario, and the Internet search and open-source intelligence are available to the participants, the exchange of data with partner organizations as well as lessons learned by NATO troops on the ground.

Consequently, LITPOLURKBRIG Command personnel should assess the threats, identify requirements and request resources for the successful operation. In the idea, as the Deputy Commander Colonel Volodymyr Yudanov explains, the Brigade is required to support the international forces in the counter-insurgency, population centric operations in close partnership with local authorities. By cooperation with the local leaders, the Police as well as military forces - a secure environment for reconstruction, development and governance programmes - will be established.

“The training is our comprehensive approach to exercise LITPOLUKRBRIG Command personnel ability to follow NATO Military Decision Making process steps and procedures.  We learn operating in the multinational environment, support each other and demonstrate the cohesion of Lithuanian, Polish and Ukrainian soldiers. By the way, the training becomes our next step on the path to achieving full operational capability and executing the real-life operations wherever we  are going to be called to conduct crisis response operations”, stated Brigadier General Adam Joks, Commander of LITPOLUKRBRIG.
