MIP: International Forum "Crimea is Ukraine" will be coincided with the second remembrance of the occupation
On 14 January,
the Ministry of information policy of Ukraine organized a working meeting with
representatives of the Crimean society, who live in exile, regarding the
holding of the International Forum "Crimea is Ukraine ".
According
to Advisor to the Minister on Crimean information policy Emine
Dzheppar the Forum will be held on 26th February and
will be conducted in the framework of a large-scale information campaign
"Crimea is Ukraine".
The Forum,
as well as the campaign, will be devoted to the second remembrance of the
occupation of Crimea and, primarily, the struggle of its inhabitants with
Russian aggression.
"We
held three coordination meetings with Crimean journalists, human rights
defenders and activists. As a result, among other things, we have reached an agreement
about the joint organization of the International Forum. Working group has been
already formed, which is currently working on the preparation of the
event", - said Dzheppar.
During the
meeting Natalia Belitser stressed the necessity of
holding multiple panels in the framework of the Forum.
"The
main focus of our work should be made on the problems of human rights
violations in Crimea, the information policy concerning the Crimea and
reintegration of the peninsula", – said the expert.
Executive
director of NGO "Human rights group 20 February" Dmytro
Nezvitskyi noted that the holding of the
International Forum on the issues of the occupied Crimea is another step
towards creating a nationwide part of the strategy of de-occupation of the
peninsula.
"The
more institutions of civil society and international experts will participate
in the Forum, the more chances to gain a strategic vision of Crimea at the
state level", said Nezvitskyi.
The Forum
is planned to be held in the Ukrainian crisis media center.
Crimean
experts, human rights activists, representatives of the Mejlis
of the Crimean Tatar people, the State Service of Ukraine on the Autonomous
Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, the Department on ensuring the work of the
Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for the Affairs of Crimean Tatars were
invited for a discussion of this event.
