Statement by members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine
We, Members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, do support the joint
statement of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko,
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada
of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
and Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk on the unity within the
country.
We represent different factions of the European Ukraine coalition, but
we, as one team, will prolong our work to reform the country, create conditions
to curb corruption. We will not afford to destroy the country and throw it to
the mercy of the Russian aggressor.
For already a year the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has been engaged
in the implementation of the Action Programme for the
Government, in which the Coalition agreement is an integral part.
One of the fundamental principles of this programme
is the fight against corruption within competence of the Government. This includes
deregulation, decentralization, the establishment of electronic services of the
Ministry of Justice that minimize the contact of citizens with government
officials, gradual liquidation of the state traffic inspection, inter-district
registration examination departments and the abolition of the notorious invoice-statements,
and the selection of heads of state-owned enterprises through open and
transparent competitions, and public procurement through electronic auctions,
and the purchase of medicines through international organizations, and the establishment
of new non-corrupt and bribeless police, and depriving
of political influence in the management of state-owned enterprises and the dissolution
of the "political supervisors", who were feeding on the state
property. The Government provided for the functioning and funding of the
National Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Security Service of Ukraine and other law
enforcement agencies to combat corruption. In addition, funding of Anti-Corruption
Prosecutor's Office is planned to increase.
These actions by the Government aimed at establishing equal rules for everyone
cause fierce resistance of the oligarchs. They, not wishing to cede their
influence on public decision-making, have organized an anti-government
information campaign which is cynical and deceitful.
In recent statements the Government is wrongly accused of corruption.
The purpose of such accusations is to destabilize the situation in the country and
return the oligarchs to power.
The accusations against the Government are not supported by proof and
groundless. They all have been repeatedly refuted.
Political instability in the circumstances of Russian aggression,
occupation of part of Ukraine’s territory, ongoing military operations in the
East of our state and the statements of irresponsible politicians, whose
speeches influenced certain volunteer battalions that turned into illegal armed
groups, may entail not just crisis but also the loss of independence and state
sovereignty of the country.
However, these politicians are not interested in the fate of Ukraine.
Their largest concern is their image and power. Thus, they want to avoid
political responsibility and to hide their own incapacity in public offices.
Such attempts to stir the pot within the country are taking place in
front of the adoption of crucial laws for the future of the country, 2016 State
Budget and the Tax Code of Ukraine, which are vital to ensure social and economic
stability in the process of implementing reforms in the country.
We appeal to all political forces of the coalition that bear joint
responsibility for our Government and urge to engage on the constructive work to
finanlize the State Budget of Ukraine and the Tax Code.
We urge to avoid discord and conflicts, confrontation and internal
destruction, so much expected by the enemies of Ukraine.
We are united. We are together. We believe in the victory of Ukraine!
Glory to Ukraine!
