Ukraine has improved by four positions in the World Bank's Doing Business ranking. The major reform which caused the progress has been carried out in the registration of enterprises, requires from the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry and the NRCEU to demonopolize this market, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated at the Cabinet’s meeting on Wednesday, October 28.

The Head of Government reminded that last year Ukraine's position in Ease of Doing Business ranking from the World Bank had moved up from 112 to 96 point in the list. This year Ukraine has upped by four positions: "According to the World Bank report, the main real reform has been undertaken in the registration of enterprises, which led to the improvement of ranking in registering property", stressed Arseniy Yatsenyuk, expressing gratitude to the Minister of Justice of Ukraine for the implementation of this reform.

However, the Prime Minister stressed that an indicator of the Doing Business which pulled down Ukraine's performance was getting electricity: "This is what I have been talking about for a year, so I appeal to the National Regulation Commission for Energy and Utilities and the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry. There exists monopoly as it has always been. We have had worst approaches and we still have. We haven’t had a law and new regulation and we don’t have them till now".

"Once again I publicly appeal to the agencies responsible for Ukraine's energy sector with a request to submit relevant acts and finally demonopolize this market and provide opportunities for entrepreneurs to connect to the electricity supply on transparent and independent conditions", - said Yatsenyuk.
