
Minister Yurii Stets held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine Yonet Can Tezel
On 8
October, 2015, the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Yurii Stets, with the purpose to establish cooperation and
implementation of Ukrainian foreign broadcasting in leading cable networks of
the world, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine Ukraine Yönet Can Tezel and the Deputy Head of Mission, the
Ambassador’s Advisor.
Minister Yurii Stets told the honored guests about the main goals
and objectives of MIP, and presented the report of the Ministry for the past
six months.
In
addition, the Minister told about the priorities and main aspects of the
Multimedia foreign broadcasting platform of Ukraine. Knowing about the interest
and support of the Turkish side on the Crimean Tatars, the Minister said that
the «UA TV» foreign TV channel will broadcast programs in Crimean Tatar language,
and added that MIP has introduced an official version of the department’s site
also in Crimean Tatar language.
"Being
aware of your concern about Ukraine and our indigenous people - Crimean Tatars,
I would like to announce that we do everything possible to involve our fellow
citizens to information space of our state", - said the Minister. He also
noted that MIP assists large-scale communications campaigns on the Crimea,
while realizing that the peninsula is impossible to return without the Crimean
Tatars, the Ministry cooperates with the Commissioner of the President of
Ukraine for the Crimean Tatar People Mustafa Dzhemilev
by implementing projects involving strategic communications.
The Turkish
party, in turn, thanked for the invitation, noting that their country is really
not indifferent to the events taking place in Ukraine, including the fate of
the Crimean Tatar people.
