
Latvian experts will help Ukraine with development of advisory services
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia, and the Embassy of Latvia to Ukraine, has initiated a project to develop the system of advising services on farming issues. As Vladyslava Rutytska, the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy on European Integration, stated, the respective project had been launched with the aim of creating a unified system of agricultural consulting in Ukraine based on the provisions of the EU legislation, and with the involvement of the Latvian experience.
“We start a joint project with the Latvian experts. Its purpose is to transfer the knowledge and experience which regards the introduction of the EU legislation in order to create a system of agricultural advising and balanced development of rural territories in Ukraine. The Latvian colleagues are going to visit the institutions of state control. They also want to gain information on the structure of state management of the agricultural sector of Ukraine. This is the assistance in creating a unified system of agricultural consultations in Ukraine based on the provisions of the EU legislation, and with the involvement of the Latvian experience”, Vladyslava Rutytska noted.
On their part, the representatives of Latvia reported that they paid great importance to the development of direct contacts with Ukrainian experts. “We focus on the harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with the European one with the introduction of the necessary standards for the production of agricultural products, the need to create a single database for registration and identification of animals”, the representatives of Latvia stressed.
In the framework of the visit, the experts are planning to visit Chernihiv and Vinnytsia regions.
Vladyslava Rutytska reported that the presence of the Latvian delegation in Ukraine would provide an opportunity to learn the agriculture and provide new contacts at the expert level between the countries in the specific areas of activity.
