On Tuesday, October 6, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov have launched a new patrol police service in Boryspil. From today the brand new police brigades will patrol the Kyiv – Boryspil highway and the airport area.
During the ceremony, Minister of Infrastructure Andrii Pyvovarsky handed over to Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov 85 Hyundai Sonata cars.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that these cars had been purchased for the notorious Sky-Taxi park of Boryspil Airport: "Now they have become the cars of the Ukrainian police".
The Prime Minister announced the introduction of patrolling the highways. Such police patrol will keep public order and traffic safety along the Kyiv – Boryspil highway. The Prime Minister noted that the next speedway to be patrolled will be Zhytomyr highway.
Apart from that, the Boryspil Airport is a pioneer in which new police officers would perform their duties, whereas a police dispatcher office starts operation in terminal D this day.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk informed that the same day there kicked off the enrolment of applicants for new patrol police of Boryspil. In total, the streets of Boryspil, the highway and the Boryspil Airport will be policed by 180 officers.
"We prolong to upgrade the Ukrainian police. And step by step the reform, which was triggered in Kyiv, will reach every area and village, as now it has reached Boryspil area," said the Head of Government.
The Premier also visited the police dispatcher office and a break area for police officers in D terminal of the Boryspil Airport. The Prime Minister congratulated the patrol officers on the start of work.
