Olexii Pavlenko met with U.S. Ex-Im Bank senior vice president Claudia Slacik

Credit programs to support Ukrainian agrarian sector should correlated with the Strategy of Agriculture and Rural Development for 2015-2020. Olexii Pavlenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine announced at a meeting with Claudia Slacik, U.S. Ex-Im Bank chief banking officer, senior vice president (Export-Import Bank of the United States).

"Ukraine is engaged into creating conditions for "long-term money" to update the basic production tools and agrarian market infrastructure. That is why we are interested in active cooperation with Ex-Im Bank," stressed Olexii Pavlenko. The Minister thanked the management team of the bank for they prolong work on the territory of Ukraine.

The Minister outlined the prospects of the agrarian sector development in Ukraine, noting that the industry preserves stable economic performance and demonstrates a sustainable growth tendency. Now the Ministry is developing a Strategy of Agriculture and Rural Development for 2015-2020, which contains the principles of sustainable development with the need to attract long-term project lending.

It should be noted Minister Olexii Pavlenko had already met with chairman of the United States Congress House of Representatives Agriculture Committee congressman M. Conaway with whom he discussed a possibility to apply the successful experience of development of agriculture in the USA.

Moreover, in Washington the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine had a meeting with leadership of the Deere&Company, a major American manufacturer of farm machinery and industrial equipment.
