Olexii Pavlenko on working visit to U.S.A. and Canada
On March 23, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olexii Pavlenko started a working
trip to the U.S. and Canada.
The main objectives of the visit include drawing investments, creating of
joint projects, the search for new markets, further
integration of Ukraine into influential international structures. Deputy
Minister for European Integration Vladislava Rutytska is also in the composition of the delegation.
In the framework of the visit, on March 23 Minister Olexii
Pavlenko is scheduled to meet with chairman of the United
States Congress House of Representatives Agriculture Committee congressman M. Conaway.
Moreover, he is due to meet with chief banking officer, U.S. Ex-Im Bank senior vice president Claudia Slacik.
The same day Olexii Pavlenko
shall meet with «Deere&Company» leaders to tackle
a joint production of agriculture equipment in Ukraine.

On Tuesday, March 24, in the U.S. Olexii Pavlenko is scheduled to make a statement at the American
Agricultural Congress. The same day Minister Olexii
Pavlenko shall hold talks with U.S. Assistant
Secretary for the Foreign Agricultural Service Michael Scuse.
On Wednesday, March 25, Minister Olexii Pavlenko shall meet with USAID Jonathan Katz, Deputy
Assistant Administrator, Bureau for Europe and Eurasia and with the
leadership of the International Finance Corporation. Moreover, he is due to
meet with Chief Agricultural Negotiator, Office of the United States Trade
Representative Darci Vetter. The head of the Agriculture Ministry is to discuss international
economic issues with Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and
Environment Katherine Novelli. The same day, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine shall
also meet with the World Bank Senior Director for Agriculture Global Practice
Juergen Voegele. On Thursday, March 26, Minister Olexii Pavlenko is due to visit Canada, where he shall meet with
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Canada Ed Fast. He is
also to have a meeting with the Sector Vice-President, Export Development Canada
Johane Seguin. During the visit to Canada he is also scheduled to meet with the leadership
of the Food Inspection Agency of Canada and Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food of Canada Gerry Ritz. On Friday, March 27, in Canada Olexii Pavlenko shall hold talks with Ontario’s Minister of Agriculture,
Food and Rural Affairs Jeff Leal. He shall also meet with the leadership and
members of the Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce, and representatives of the
Ukrainian Diaspora and representatives of the Ukrainian media in Canada. |
