Hennadii Zubko considers providing tertiary care should be ensured in Luhansk region

In Luhansk region it proves necessary to take urgent measures to ensure the region's population could obtain highly specialized medical care, despite the fact that 75 healthcare facilities out of 88, such as a regional perinatal center, a haemodialysis center, a regional cardiologic dispensary, a regional oncology center, and others remained on the territory controlled by illegal armed groups. Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadii Zubko announced while on a working visit to Luhansk region.

He visited the hospital in Severodonetsk, which is to become the basis for an advanced Luhansk regional clinical hospital.

"The territory of Luhansk region, controlled by the Ukrainian Government, presently has no leading regional medical institution that provides tertiary care. For this reason people are forced to leave seeking to receive specialized medical assistance to other regions of Ukraine. The issue must be addressed immediately, as we are talking about the health of our people", said Hennadii Zubko.

The authorities of the region informed that this day there were inked lease agreements to situate the departments of Luhansk regional clinical hospital in the facilities of the hospital in Severodonetsk.

The Vice-Prime Minister has commissioned the local authorities to resume as soon as possible the work of leading regional institutions on the property base of the hospitals of Severodonetsk and other towns of the region, those controlled by the Ukrainian Government, and assured that on its part the Government would provide comprehensive assistance to facilitate implementation of this task.
