Kharkiv opened the camp for internally displaced persons. Opening of another six in the regions on the line

Migrants from eastern Ukraine - 84 families, half of which are large families, and 3 families with disabled children (overall 383 people) will now be living in a comfortable camp in Kharkiv, built to provide temporary accommodation for the internally displaced persons. It is a module-type camp, which consists of 10 apartment-type houses (100 residential units), 3 dormitories (84 modules), a laundry (2 modules) and an administrative unit (3 modules). The shelter is equipped with beds, wardrobes, mattresses, bedding, tables, chairs, kitchenware, refrigerators, sanitary facilities necessary for the planned quantity of people. There have also been equipped housing facilities for the disabled. All of this is the assistance provided to Ukraine by Germany.

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadii Zubko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Germany Christof Weil arrived to attend the camp.

They talked to the residents of the camp, congratulated them on the new home and got acquainted with the conditions of their stay in the modular housing.

He expressed to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Germany Christof Weil gratitude to the German people for their help and support rendered to the people of Ukraine.

Hennadii Zubko also thanked the builders and SES employees for the professional and fast work.

Vice Prime Minister informed that another 6 camps would be open in Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk and Dnepropetrovsk region - in Dniprodzerzhynsk, Nikopol, Krivyy Rih, Pavlograd. All the camps can accommodate almost 3.5 thousand people.

"It is important for everyone to realize there is no internal conflict in our country. The Ukrainian nation is united. The external aggression forces the Ukrainians from Donbas leave their homes. The Ukrainian Government and the people of Ukraine are doing everything they can to ease suffering of these people and to make them return home as soon as possible," said the Vice Prime Minister.

Apart from that Hennadii Zubko informed that the regions in which internally displaced persons reside had started forming a list of necessary supplies and medicines.

"Having relevant information concerning each area, it will be easier for us together with humanitarian missions to satisfy the needs of these people", the official said.
