Concept of Government's Action Program 2015 to be presented to Parliament on Tuesday

The concept of an action program of the Government for 2015 will be presented to the Parliament on Tuesday, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius stated at a briefing at the Government House on 5 December.

According to the Minister, there was a meeting with the Prime Minister yesterday, each Ministry has defined objectives and a timetable for their implementation for 2015.

"2015, of course, will be a difficult year. But new laws are to be adopted, a large-scale reform of executive power is to be carried out, everything will be done to return the country to economic growth by 2016", Aivaras Abromavicius assured.

He noted the document to be "very specific".

"The Action Program is based on key tasks of certain ministries as well as on a reform’s plan aimed at Ukraine's withdrawal from the economic crisis. Already on Tuesday, the whole program will be presented to the Parliament," the Minister underlined.

As the official has emphasized, the restoration of economic development and its transition into a permanent basis is only feasible when creating an investment climate in which both domestic and foreign investors will feel comfortable. This will happen only in case of the complete elimination of administrative barriers for business as well as taking maximum advantage of the opportunities for free trade in the European Union. Also the tax burden on business must meet the real possibilities of economy. For this purpose it should be reduced operating costs and improve government efficiency of public financial resources. In addition, according to Aivaras Abromavicius, it is necessary to provide maximum support to the economy through the development of efficient, transparent and non-corrupt system of government procurement.

"Achieving these goals is only possible by eliminating inefficient and corrupt governance systems and replacing them with absolutely new ones that will meet modern demands and expectations of society," Aivaras Abromavicius stressed.
