Ukraine's PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with European Commission Vice-President Guenter Oettinger

September, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with Vice-President of the European Commission
Günter Oettinger, who is in Kyiv on the occasion
of the 12th session of the Council of Ministers of the European Energy
Community.
The Prime
Minister has discussed with the Vice-President of the European Commission the current
state and prospects of trilateral talks with Russia on Russian gas supplies to Ukraine.
Having agreed positions of the Ukrainian and European sides for the next round
of negotiations with Russian representatives scheduled for 26 September, Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Guenther Oettinger have reiterated their common desire to reach agreement
on the principles of transparency and market-based approach to the pricing of
gas.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk has highly assessed the support of the European
Commission on the issue of reverse gas supply from the EU Member States to Ukraine.
The Prime
Minister has noted that Ukraine is seeking to become an integral part of the single
European energy market and has taken the necessary decisions creating conditions
to attract investment into the Ukrainian gas transportation system.
