One of the probable components to deter
Russian aggression must be considering of an opportunity to freeze all assets
of Russia and stop all banking transactions of the Russian Federation with the
EU, the U.S.A. and G7 states until the Russian military equipment, machinery
and agents are withdrawn from Ukraine. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy
Yatsenyuk stated on Thursday, August 28. The Head of Government stressed that Ukraine
is capable to cope with the Russian terrorists and mercenaries, supported by
Russia: "But it is extremely difficult for Ukraine to cope with the
Russian army and with Russia as a nuclear country that is heavily armed. And
besides, certain European countries have military contracts with them to
supply weapons which will be used and is used nowadays against Ukraine,
against Europe and the entire world." Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasized that Russia had
considerably increased its military presence on the territory of Ukraine: "The
situation is daunting. I want to approach the issue with unemotional mind and
a hot heart. Under the current circumstances I consider necessary that our
western partners should immediately summon an emergency meeting of the UN
Security Council". Moreover, according to him, similar
emergency meetings should be gathered by the Organization for Security and
Cooperation in Europe and by the European Union at the level of foreign
ministers. He stressed that the imposed against the RF
sanctions “have failed to facilitate de-escalating of the situation in
Ukraine”: "In the current situation, one of the probable components to
deter Russian aggression must be considering of an opportunity to freeze all
assets of Russia and stop all banking transactions of the Russian Federation
with the countries of the European Union, the United States and the G7. To
freeze Russian assets and finances until the moment Russia withdraws its
military equipment, machinery and agents". “The situation indeed is very difficult. All
honour to Ukrainian soldiers who are defending and protecting our country,”
Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed. “Volodymyr Putin
deliberately launched the war in Europe. The entire world knows that and it
is impossible to hide. Hence, the world needs effective and efficient steps,”
the PM said. |
